1. International youth choral festival and Choral conducting competition »AEGIS CARMINIS\'« 2019
First International choral competition for youth, high school and student amateur choirs (Dead-line for application: January 11, 2019) and choral conductors born after February 1979 (Dead-line for application: January 14, 2019) will take place in Koper from March 14. – 17. 2019.
Conductors and possible accompanying instrumentalists can be professional musicians. The number of singers cannot be less than 12; however, there is no upper limit. The number of participants is limited: there can only be 8 youth choirs, 5 high school choirs, and 5 student choirs. If there are not enough participants in each category, the organizer can accept more choirs in other categories. The artistic board named by the organization committee, will determine whether a certain choir will be admitted to the competition. The decision will be based on the artistic quality of the choir, evident from the application.

Slovenian delegation and the band Koala Voice heading to Sharpe Bratislava!
On 26 and 27 April, the Slovakian showcase festival Sharpe will take place in Bratislava for the second time. The event at the Nová Cvernovka former factory will feature 36 acts from twelve countries over two days. Half of the acts are Slovakian, while the foreign ones include Slovenian quartet Koala Voice (INES#talent), who have performed at numerous European festivals and clubs in recent years and released their third album “Woo Horsie” in February.
MENT Ljubljana – Festival & Conference
The fifth edition of MENT, produced by Kino Šiška and coproduced by the Slovenian Music Information Centre - Sigic, will fill different venues in Ljubljana with performances of more than 70 musicians and shed light on their individual creativity as well as the inner workings of the music industry at the international conference.

Lalita Svete performed a chamber music repertoire with her colleagues, German cellist Maike Clemens and Bulgarian pianist Iliyana Stoyanova, and received a scholarship award.
Katarina Pustinek Rakar awarded in Italy
In November the Adkins Chiti Women in Music Foundation, which focuses on the musical creations of women, awarded ten female composers for their works. Slovene composer and assistant professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana Katarina Pustinek Rakar was among the finalists.
