Dendrocopos duo performs at Katya Popova Laureate Days
The promising young percussion duo took part in Pleven's flourishing cultural life and is currently preparing for new challenges ahead.
The promising young percussionists Jan Čibej and Luka Poljanec, known as the Dendrocopos duo, took part in Pleven's flourishing cultural life. The percussion duo was invited to perform at the International Music Festival Laureate Days "Katya Popova" in Pleven, Bulgaria.
The biennial festival has a fifty-year tradition of showcasing young musical talent, winners of prestigious awards at international competitions around the globe. The Dendrocopos duo was thus selected to take part at the Festival as the winners of the prestigious percussion competition in Luxembourg. The evening concert of the percussion duo took place on 3 October.
On 28 March the Dendrocopos duo will perform at the 10th edition of the International Music Cycle "Young Virtuosi" of the Ljubljana Festival 2018/19.
Slovenian delegation and the band Koala Voice heading to Sharpe Bratislava!
On 26 and 27 April, the Slovakian showcase festival Sharpe will take place in Bratislava for the second time. The event at the Nová Cvernovka former factory will feature 36 acts from twelve countries over two days. Half of the acts are Slovakian, while the foreign ones include Slovenian quartet Koala Voice (INES#talent), who have performed at numerous European festivals and clubs in recent years and released their third album “Woo Horsie” in February.
MENT Ljubljana – Festival & Conference
The fifth edition of MENT, produced by Kino Šiška and coproduced by the Slovenian Music Information Centre - Sigic, will fill different venues in Ljubljana with performances of more than 70 musicians and shed light on their individual creativity as well as the inner workings of the music industry at the international conference.
