2Cellos
The Slovene-Croatian pair, playing together as 2Cellos, is conquering the world stage.

The duo 2Cellos, consisting of cellists Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser, is gaining in popularity with audiences around the world. Luka Šulić was born in Maribor (Slovenia) and began his studies in Zagreb (Croatia). He later continued his studies in Vienna and completed them in London at the Royal Academy of Music. He has received many awards at competitions, such as the International Tchaikovsky Competition (2004), the National Competition in Ljubljana (2000, 2003), the Witold Lutoslawski International Cello Competition (2009), the International Competition of the Royal Academy of Music in London (2011) and won the first prize at the Alpe-Adria Competition in Gorizia (1999, 2003). Stjepan Hauser was born in Pula in Croatia; he studied in England and America and is also the winner of many awards.
Last year 2Cellos published an arrangement of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal on You Tube. The video received more than 5 million views in just a few weeks. Following the video's success, the duo received invitations to appear as guests on the shows of Ellen De Generes, Jay Leno and Stephan Raab and joined Elton John's tour. The duo's performance of Smooth Criminal was also featured in the American TV series Glee, in a part dedicated to Michael Jackson, which made them the first instrumentalists to appear in Glee.
Though their first album, which was released last year, consists of arrangements of well-known pop and rock songs, the cellists also perform a classical repertoire on classical music stages as well as at popular music venues.
