Etno Slovenia 2011 among the 20 top albums on World Music Charts Europe
Editors of 49 radio stations from 24 European countries have placed the compilation album Etno Slovenia 2011 on the World Music Charts Europe.

The compilation album Etno: Glasbene poti – podolgem in počez / Music Routes – Highways and Byways, Slovenia 2011, published towards the end of last year by Sigic, has entered the listing of the World Music Charts Europe. The chart is compiled by 49 radio station music reviewers and music connoisseurs from 24 European countries (within the framework of the European Broadcasting Union). Ethno / world music groups from all over the world are on the chart; among the current 179 nominated albums is also the compilation Etno Slovenia 2011, which reached the No. 17 spot in March. The albums selected for the Chart are broadcast in European radios and sold online.
The compilation Etno Slovenia 2011 comprises a wide range of performances of some of the most renowned and acknowledged musicians who have indelibly influenced the Slovene ethno music in the last three years. The various compositions featured on the compilation were published between January 2009 and June 2011, and were chosen by the selection committee composed of well-established experts on ethno and world music: the anthropologist and researcher of popular culture dr. Rajko Muršič (chairman of the committee), ethnomusicologist dr. Svanibor Pettan and music journalists Katarina Juvančič and Mario Batelić. Music Routes – Highways and Byways, Slovenia 2011 contains performances by Slovenian musicians, singers, bands and vocal groups, such as: Arsov feat. Lara Baruca, Eva Hren & Sladcore, Katalena, Sounds of Slovenia feat. Brina Vogelnik, Maja Osojnik Band, Carmina Slovenica, Essaouira Project, Terrafolk, Vesna Zornik, Katarina Juvančič and Dejan Lapanja, Sedef, Fake Orchestra, Bossa de Novo, Kurkuma, Dirtmusic, Aleš Hadalin, Same babe, Bakalina, Kontrabant, Brencl banda, Orlek, Vruja, Katice, Bogdana Herman, Jure Tori, Uršula Ramoveš in Fantje z Jazbecove grape, Ljoba Jenče, Marko banda feat. Regina, Pella, Jararaja, Mlada beltinška banda, Šukar and Vlado Kreslin.
The opulent double CD is accompanied by a booklet with three essays written by the members of the selection committee offering an overview of Slovenian ethno music. The booklet also contains detailed presentations of featured artists in English as well as in Slovene.
