Jazz Slovenia 2011
The first compilation in the history of Slovenian jazz.

The Slovenian Music Information Centre has published the first compilation in the history of Slovenian jazz, Jazz Slovenia 2011. It presents a selection of compositions by the jazz composers, arrangers and performers who have made the greatest mark on the jazz scene in Slovenia in the last three years.
Jazz Slovenia 2011 is an opulent production, including two CDs, essays (CD Greetings written by Hugo Šekoranja, Artistic Director of Big Band RTV Slovenia and leader of the selection commission for the compilation, and Jazz under the Alps Meets the World written by Mario Batelić, journalist and member of the selection commission for the compilation) and exhaustive information about the musicians in both Slovenian and English. The main criteria for the inclusion of compositions on the compilation was currentness and relevance, and it therefore includes compositions recorded between 2007 and 2011 that cover a broad spectrum in terms of genre and mood.
