JEFF
The JEFF festival colours the old town centre of Koper for 9th year in row.

The Koper Student Club is organising the 9th annual event JEFF (Jazz Ethno Funky Festival), which every year enlivens summer evenings in the historic centre of the Slovenian coastal town. The most diverse performers will spice up Wednesdays in July and August in the gardens of the Koper Regional Museum. The first evening (July 6) featured the group Brencl Banda and Brina. The following weeks will present concerts with: Keel Klezmer Band, Maxmaber Orkestar, The Open Trio, Boogaboom, Zwalk Trio, Sekou Kouyate Experience, Džezzva and Vlado Batista & Strings. The series closes August 17 with performances by Ravi Shrestha and Miha Petric, and Klarisa Jovanović and Della Segodba.
In addition to music, JEFF offers a host of other events and activities, including a photography exhibition Na drugi strani mojega sveta (“On the Other Side of My World”) by Primož Šutak, an exhibition of hand-made instruments by Borut Planinc, an Istrian culinary corner, a lecture by Matevž Smerkol titled “What Is It About Jazz That Captivates Us?”, a workshop on Istrian Folk Instruments by Marina Kranjac and a practical workshop called “Herbs at Home” prepared by the Boškarin Association.
You can find a more complete festival programme on JEFF’s website.
