Samuel Blues – Sammy Automatic

The musical reputation of Samuel Blues was initially spread by word of mouth. Concert goers left venues with a clear wish to tell all their friends about the boy from Jesenice who plays the good old rudimentary version of blues. He was a musical phenomenon, a child prodigy, who beat the rhythm with his leg on his homemade wooden drum set. In addition, he possessed an impressive deep and rough voice, which made a lasting impression on the domestic music scene also because of its international sounding timbre. The end of this year is thus marked by the release of his fifth album.
Among other music genres in which he dabbles, such as garage rock, surf, postpunk and grunge, elementary delta blues remains his central focus, from which he sources his inspiration of rhythm and melody for his own one-man blues band under the Alps. Though he performs as a solo musician, this is not apparent from his albums. These feature a wide range of different machines and instruments of original make, which give the listener a tangible band-like experience.
