Seviqc Brežice

This year the Seviqc Brežice Festival once again offers a range of early music concerts held at some of the the most diverse venues across Slovenia. Through varied programming connections the festival presents the legacy of European and international music, devoting special importance to the performance of music that was composed in Slovenia. Every year the concert program of the festival embraces the music from the middle ages to the beginning of the 20th century. The music on the concerts is performed on period instruments employing the appropriate performance practices. The festival program is planned exclusively in the manner of historical performance practice and takes place only in locations belonging to Slovenia’s cultural heritage.
Thirty concerts will take place between June 22 and September 4. Scheduled to perform are Ars Longa, Camerata Garestin, Capella de Ministrers, Capilla Flamenca, Capilla del Sol, Divna Ljubojević & Ensemble Melodi, Ensemble Marquise, Il Canto di Orfeo, La Ca'd'Oro's, Les Ambassadeurs, Nova Schola Labacensis, Severinj, Silva Rerum ter Simon Standage & Dalibor Miklavčič. A number of lectures and master classes in baroque violin, flute and recorder, viola da gamba, keyboard instruments and dance will also be held as part of the festival.
