Showcase Festival and Conference ESNS 2022
The annual Dutch showcase festival and music conference Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS), founded in 1986 in order to promote the circulation of European music across the European continent and beyond, returns to Groningen for a special edition.
This year, the programme will take place entirely online between January 19 and January 22. You can check the lineup here and the conference programme here.
Among the many European talents, who will get a 10-minute slot to present their video performance, we also find two Slovenian acts. The funked-up, London-jazz inspired brass trio Pantaloons is scheduled on Wednesday at 9.50 pm, while the trained jazz vocalist and self-taught pianist Hauptman will perform on Thursday at 10.30 pm.
Slovenians will also participate at this year’s conference as part of HEMI, a European initiative aiming to support artists and music professionals from Central and South Eastern Europe. Peter Baroš, the head of SIGIC (Slovenian Music Information Center) and consortium for the music export Music Slovenia, will participate on the panel “From the Baltic to the Balkans – United Toward a Balanced and Competitive European Music Sector”. The panel will be moderated by Ljubljana-based American musician, composer, producer, educator and label owner Chris Eckman.
