Slovenian musicians performing abroad
Some Slovenian musicians managed to achieve recognition abroad. More and more often they tour around the world and at the moment Germany seems to be their target.
On a recent tour in Germany, the well-known Slovenian rock group Siddharta has also performed in Berlin. The concert was recorded in 3D technology, which permitted live streaming of the band’s performance on the Internet. This was not a first for the band, which used 3D technology already in 2002 in the making of the animated music video for the song Platna 9th RMX as well as last year in the design of the DVD’s Stadion Stožice cover and booklet, featuring a 3D photo gallery.
Another musician performing in Berlin is the singer-songwriter and pianist Dominik Bagola, whose concert on 19 October was also transmitted live on the Alex TV station. Bagola and his project Balladero sparked an interest within the German record company Achtung Music. The album Club Deuce, launched this year, is the work of Dominik Bagola and other international musicians, such as the American bass player Shane Soloski and Italian guitarist Lorenzo Corti. The album, which was produced by Bobby MacIntyre in Miami's Studio 71 and finished in Los Angeles' Capitol Studios & Mastering, has been nominated for 8 categories of the Independent Music Awards (www.independentmusicawards.com). The concert in Berlin featured Bagola with special guest musician guitarist Lorenzo Corti and the masterful percussionist Jaka Berger, who rounded off the the trio's performance with groove.

On 26 October the Slovenian vocal group Perpetuum Jazzile will embark on a tour in Germany. The jazz group performs primarily a cappella arrangements of popular songs and only uses vocal percussion to imitate instruments. It won international recognition with their rendition of the song Africa (by Toto) on YouTube. In the past year, the group has won many fans in Germany and has already performed on several German TV stations. Until 16 December the group will give 16 concerts in German cities (Dresden, Chemnitz, Berlin, Bochum, Hamburg, Wetzlar, Bremen, Frankfurt, Düsseldorfu, Nürnberg, München, Tuttlingen, Freiburg, Kempt and Mannheim). The jazz choir, under the direction of Peder Karlsson, performs popular hits. Karlsson has been involved in this musical genre for several decades and was also a member of The Real Group, one of the most prominent European vocal ensembles.
