Vito Žuraj, first-prize winner of Stuttgart composition competition
Ensemble Modern performed the awarded works of the competition at the opening concert of the ECLAT New Music Festival in Stuttgart and among them the prize-winning composition by the Slovenian composer Vito Žuraj.
This year the 57th composition competition of the city of Stuttgart awarded the works of Vito Žuraj and Héctor Moro. Žuraj's composition for instrumental soloists and orchestra Changeover received the first prize and Moro's composition Lichtzwang was awarded the second prize.
Both prizes were presented to the composers at the concert on 7 February. The Ensemble Modern performed Žuraj's composition Top Spin for percussion trio and Moro’s composition.
The winning composition Changeover will be performed at a concert on 15 March by the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra within the framework of the Attaca concert series organized by SWR radio station.
