Classical guitar and voice placed in the space of silence by their very nature stretch their hands to the Tightrope Walkers of Duo Ponte. Alja Petric and Damjan Stanišić selected lyrics from three poets (Simona Solina, Albert Halász, Magdalena Svetina Terčon) and turned them into melodies that can touch human hearts. The compositions are intertwined with singing and reciting, accompanied by the acoustic guitar, strictly following and complementing the meaning of words that always sound clear and pure in Alja Petric’s articulation. Minimalistic musical approach to poetry is powerful enough as it is and does not require a multitude of notes, only a bridge, which “ponte” means in Italian. A bridge between words and music, guitar and voice, a man and a woman, mind and sensuality that rounds the expression of three voices, each of which possessing its own language for searching itself in the world.
