Zlatko Kaučič, Barry Guy, Maya Homburger - Without Borders...

Percussionist and composer Zlatko Kaučič has been exploring the issues of borders, migration and basic premises of humanism through his sound practices for more than a decade. On his new album Without Borders… he is joined by the legendary British bass player Barry Guy and his partner, violinist, improviser and baroque music specialist, Maya Homburger. In the compositions, Kaučič reveals his second nature, his creative empathy, which can blend into various extremely personal sound expressions and with those of Guy and Homburger’s, dwelling at the crossroads where improvisations, contemporary classical music and old (Baroque) music clash.
This is precisely where their strength lies - in Kaučič\'s ability and flexibility, located between the impulsive creativity, as duets with Guy reveal, and in the sensible, patient coloring and puncturing of pre-composed compositions.
