Mihael Hrustelj - fallen leaves / padlo listje

On his debut album fallen leaves/padlo listje musician Mihael Hrustelj introduces himself as a guitar soloist. His music could best be described as ambiental, as it depicts different emotions emerging inside oneself. It draws from classical music, but also includes the elements of world music – with the emphasis on the music of the Balkans – jazz and even hip-hop. The compositions are imbued with some sort of natural rawness, which is the outcome of minimal sound processing as well as the artist’s highly expressive, individualistic stance.

Hrustelj’s music is idiosyncratic and hence difficult to pin down into one genre category, as the artist does not follow any well-known, established patterns. His compositions are free of any form, which enables a rich genre diversity.
