Glasbena matica published a collection of songs by Marij Kogoj

The Glasbena Matica publishing house has thus added another collection to the repertoire of important sheet music collections publications. Composer Jakob Jež revised all the works by Marij Kogoj that could be read and edited.

The published collection features 27 pieces, which are divided into three sections: early songs, songs from his legacy, and last songs. The presentation included a music performance by mezzosoprano Barbara Jernejčič Fürst, who performed a song from each section. Thus we heard I will remember you (Jaz se te bom spomnila), The Return (Vrnitev) and The Tree (Drevo).

Three songs by Marij Kogoj published in 1921 by the Glasbena matica  society remained unchanged,  the rest of the songs were edited by Jakob Jež, who is very passionate about Kogoj's music. As he commented at the presentation: »… This is where Kogoj's greatness begins and later continues in Black Masks.«
