Neseseri Kakalulu – Neseseri Kakalulu

Neseseri Kakalulu are drawing from the global form, which is considered (historically) to be black and also African at its core, similar to rhythm and blues (and rock), jazz, soul, funk, salsa, funk, hip-hop, reggae, calypso.
In their music making and in their performance alike, the band introduces compulsory yet mutual listening experience that allows accents to shift. Also worth mentioning is their attitude to the main “beat”, through which the variations of the brass echoes surf, creating an abundance of possibilities for expansion and upgrade. It is here we find the foundation for musical enjoyment and also invitation to dance looking for, touching “off beat”.
There is something “down there” on the coast where our musical Negroes bloom and play, cultivating tradition that is both locally specific and at the same time beautifully accessible.
