Luka Prinčič - Albatross EP

During the past two decades, Luka Prinčič (nova deViator) has managed to establish himself as an engaged multimedia artist, DJ, producer, and in the last few years also as a music publisher. His record label Kamizdat is one of the most important hubs of electronic music in Slovenia.
The sound on the first half of the album is carried by a flow of melancholic introspection, which gradually transitions into more lively musical forms and dub rhythms. The other half is hence more varied and bolder, although still saturated with darker sentiments and old-school sounds. This EP is an excellent showcase of Prinčič's diverse musical practices and his general ethical principles, as well as a useful starting point for a listener to getting acquainted with his work. Albatross is a prime example of somewhat belated but still extremely elaborated and seasoned Slovenian electronic music.
